Letters to nowhere

 i write you letters every night 

yours is the only name i capitalize 

yet you never get them

and I’ll never send them

i’ll grow old with time

and you will too

and my pile of unsent letters will have grown with us

like the distance that emerged between us 

that just kept growing 

all those years ago.
