someone died in the sea yesterday

 

someone died in the sea yesterday.

the waters sucked her soul 

and took her life afloat,

far away on its waves.

the sand curled at her feet,

the fish stood still.

and as God lifted her from His waters.

the salt on her skin crumbled in the air,

 and like a fallen angel, she rose from the waves

leaving behind her breath within the depths.
